Harmful foods and products

Here is a list of commonly used foods that can be dangerous, toxic or even fatal to your pet:

  • Fatty/moldy foods

  • Caffeine
  • Mushrooms
  • Chocolate
  • Chives
  • Compost
  • Hop cones
  • Rhubarb leaves
  • Potato leaves and stems (green parts)
  • Tomato leaves and stems (green parts)
  • Liver
  • Chewing gum
  • Mustard seeds
  • Currants
  • Milk and dairy products
  • Nutmeg
  • Nut
  • Pits (apricot/cherry/peach)
  • Raw eggs, meat or fish (can be contaminated with various pathogens, including Salmonella and E. coli bacteria which are responsible for a large proportion of food poisoning)
