Animo etc's decision not to sell animals in stores
From the very first hours of Animo etc.'s life, it was obvious to the administrators that it would never sell animals in stores. As passionate and fervent animal lovers, selling in stores would have meant for the founders, a great lack of respect towards the animals themselves. Animo etc. wanted to represent the animal first and foremost and to be its defender. This is also why all the accessories, products and food sold in stores by Animo etc. are sought after, of quality, made mainly in Quebec and that the employees are trained to be able to offer customers fair and trustworthy advice. Even the grooming service is adapted and attentive. Our groomers treat the animals as if they were their own, and this, with all the attention and tenderness deserved. Our suppliers are chosen with great care and we make it a point of honor to only sell products in which we believe and that we know are good for the animal. For Animo etc and its franchisees, selling animals would have meant validating the actions of certain entrepreneurs, puppy mills, or others. This could not be acceptable or conceivable. With all the shelters, veterinary centers and recognized and reliable breeders that exist, there is no reason to sell animals in stores. Animals are sentient beings and are not made to be locked in cages or behind glass while waiting to be adopted, often in questionable conditions. Of course, there are all kinds of breeders, but it is our duty to do our research so that these places disappear once and for all and Animo etc wishes to be a trusted point of reference for its customers at this level, but also, in several other spheres!
