Le Bois de Belle Rivière: the perfect place for dogs and their owners

Representatives of the canine breed and their masters are more welcome than ever in the Bois de Belle-Rivière, while the Mirabel regional park inaugurated on July 28 the very first dog park to be set up on the Mirabel territory, in addition to being one of a kind.

“We wanted to respond to the demand of many dog owners who were looking to offer their pet a place adapted to its needs and where it could relax and stretch its legs without constraints,” explains the mayor of Mirabel, Mr. Jean Bouchard.

Accessible year-round, the Mirabel dog park stands out from the others, notably due to its surface area of 4,900 square metres (53,000 square feet), its semi-wooded areas dotted with pine trees that provide shade for the animal and the presence of a watering hole that is operational regardless of the season. It also offers man's best friend and his master a place to relax located near a parking lot and the many services that a regional park is able to offer.

"Now equipped with this facility, the Bois-de-Belle-Rivière regional park - which is one of the rare regional parks that accepts dogs - will become a dog-friendly destination," says its general manager, Mr. Stéphane Michaud, who adds that the development of a dog park is a logical continuation of the regional development of the park, which already welcomes more than 6,000 dog visits annually.
