Rodents

The rabbit

Even though the rabbit is not a rodent, it has some particularities that make it a pet with a routine similar to a rodent. Just like the hamster, most rabbits are omnivores but will prefer plant products and should not be fed only with seeds. A carrot or a large leaf of lettuce per day is a good addition to its diet. However, unlike most rodents, rabbits are affectionate and will appreciate being petted. Give it love and it will return the favor. In addition, in some cases, some rabbits can coexist together in the same space. Discover our Rodent Accessories

RODENT ACCESSORIES

The hamster

The hamster is a domestic animal that is very autonomous and rather independent. They are animals that are fearful but will not hesitate to attack if provoked; you must therefore watch your fingers and not be abrupt with him. He is curious and likes to explore his territory. In addition, you must moderate the amount of food given because the hamster would be led to store his meal rather than eat it immediately. If you see this behavior, it is important to avoid cage modules such as pipes in order to avoid his isolation. Finally, his cage must be cleaned and his litter changed regularly. With a little love and care, your hamster will be a pleasant life companion to be around.

The guinea pig

The guinea pig is sometimes called a "guinea pig" because of the species' past use as a laboratory animal; fortunately, public awareness has led to the release of these adorable creatures. Contrary to popular belief, this animal is rather clean provided it has an optimal environment: it must have water at all times and its meals must be moderated. It will also need to be entertained, for example by buying it a toy with which it can play. They are fearful and are not likely to be aggressive, but can bite if provoked. Finally, it is possible to have two guinea pigs living together since these animals naturally have a group spirit.
